I have presented at district-wide professional development, serve on the district-wide technology planning committee, and present at faculty meetings.
It is difficult, and I for the most part do it on
the fly, unless I'm working on a project or collaborating with different
grades. Begining of each year, I attend and do a little inservice at each of
the faculty meeting.
I try to gather as much information as I can informally by talking with teachers about their classes and asking what I can do to build on their curriculum. This doesn't always work but I plan to build on it in the coming years. Our C&I director has provided me with a unit plan for grade level reading programs. I try to at least use vocabulary from those materials and maybe connect to a common subject or theme. One sure way to please them is buy the books or DVD's they want quickly and make a note to inform them when the materials arrive.
I love screencastomatic.com for making vodcasts to teach use of online tools/using our catalog to staff. The site makes SMALL files that can easily be emailed. I've also started doing an about-once-a-month e-newsletter to share new tools/information with staff and remind them about all the resources our libraries have. As I come across tidbits to include, I copy them/type them into an email draft. ~Marcia Dressel - Osceola
